How we verify & rank prop firms
PropFirmPickr is independent, paid-for-by-affiliate-commissions, and refreshed every 24 hours. Here's exactly how our ranking score is calculated — and what would make us delist a firm.
How the score is calculated
Trustpilot signal (40%)
We pull the live Trustpilot rating and review count for every listed firm. Rating × log(reviews) — so firms with 4.8★ from 5,000 reviews outrank firms with 5.0★ from 5 reviews. Firms without a verified Trustpilot rating are listed but do not receive a rank score.
Payout reliability (25%)
We track the firm's published payout history, frequency (daily / weekly / bi-weekly / monthly), minimum withdrawal threshold, transaction fees, and whether payouts have been delayed or denied in the last 12 months. First-party payout proofs collected from verified traders each quarter.
Evaluation cost vs profit split (15%)
Effective cost per dollar of funded capital — evaluation fee divided by max account size, adjusted for profit split and average payout cycles to first withdrawal. Lower is better. We surface this in the From $XX 'true cost' badge on every firm card.
Rule clarity & time-in-operation (10%)
How clearly are drawdown, consistency, news-trading, EA, and weekend rules documented? Firms with vague or recently-changed T&Cs are penalized. Time in operation is weighted — newer firms cap at a lower score until they prove 12+ months of consistent payouts.
Platform & feature breadth (10%)
Number of supported platforms (MT4/MT5/cTrader/TradingView/Match-Trader/etc.), payment methods, payout methods, and scaling-plan availability. Wider support = more flexibility for traders = higher score.
What we promise traders
We are independent
PropFirmPickr is not owned by, operated by, or financially linked to any prop firm. Rankings are not paid-for. No firm can buy a higher position on this site.
We disclose all affiliate links
Many firm pages include affiliate links — when you check out via our PICKR code we may earn a commission. This never affects ranking, your discount, or your future profit split.
We refresh rankings every 24 hours
Ratings, payout history, and firm rules are re-checked daily. If a firm changes its drawdown policy or delays a payout cycle, the ranking adjusts within 24h.
We never aggregate ratings
We do not mix Trustpilot ratings with first-party reviews. Each rating source is shown separately and clearly attributed — Google's Helpful Content guidelines require honest signal labeling.
We will delist a firm
Firms that miss two consecutive payout cycles, materially change rules without notice, or face credible fraud claims will be flagged with a warning banner or delisted entirely. Last delisting date: see the Industry News feed.
Methodology FAQ
How often is the ranking refreshed?▾
Every 24 hours. We re-pull Trustpilot ratings, re-check firm websites for rule changes, and re-score each firm. Major events (rule changes, payout delays, acquisitions) trigger an out-of-cycle re-score.
How do you handle paid promotion and affiliate links?▾
Affiliate links exist on most firm pages — they help fund the site. The exclusive PICKR discount is paid for by the firm's affiliate budget, so you get the discount AND we earn a commission with no extra cost to you. Affiliate status NEVER influences ranking. We display an 'Affiliate disclosure' note on every firm sticky-buy box.
What if a firm disputes its ranking?▾
Firms can submit corrections via support@propfirmpickr.com. If our data is wrong (e.g. drawdown policy listed incorrectly) we'll fix it within 24h and re-score. We do not negotiate ranking position. We do post firm responses publicly in the Industry News section.
Do you collect personal data on traders?▾
We collect anonymous click and search telemetry to improve recommendations. We do not sell user data. If you create an account to favorite firms or submit reviews, your email is used only for account access and (if you opt in) the newsletter. See Privacy Policy.
What's the methodology behind the Find My Firm wizard?▾
The wizard maps your asset (forex/futures/crypto), budget tier (< $100, $100–250, $250–500, $500+), and style (beginner, scalper, swing, pro) to firm profiles using the same weighted scoring above, plus rule-style fit (e.g. scalpers get firms allowing high-frequency strategies, beginners get firms with Static drawdown).
