How we handle your data

We built PropFirmPickr to be the cleanest discovery layer for prop firms — and that includes being upfront about what we collect and why. Last updated January 2026.

1. Who we are

PropFirmPickr ("PropFirmPickr", "we", "our") operates the discovery & comparison platform at propfirmpickr.com. We help traders compare proprietary trading firms, access exclusive discounts, and track verified offers. We are not a broker, not a prop firm, and we never execute trades on your behalf.

2. What data we collect

Device identifier — a random ID stored in localStorage to sync your favorites and likes across visits.
Click telemetry — when you click an affiliate / Apply button, we record the firm, the placement, your country (from CDN headers), and the referring page. No personally identifying data.
Account data — if you sign up: email, hashed password, display name, country (optional).
Contact form — anything you write to us via the contact form (name, email, message).
Reviews — any reviews you submit are public and attributed to your display name.

3. How we use your data

Operate the comparison platform (favorites sync, popular ranking).
Pay our affiliate partners — we get a commission when you purchase a challenge through our links. The price you pay is the same as buying direct (often lower thanks to the PICKR code).
Improve the product (aggregated, anonymised analytics).
Respond to support and security inquiries.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

We use a single technical cookie (admin_token) to keep admin sessions alive, and a localStorage device ID to sync your favorites. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. We do load embedded Trustpilot widgets on certain firm pages — Trustpilot may set its own cookies under their policy.

5. Sharing your data

We never sell your data. We share only the strict minimum:

Affiliate networks receive an anonymous utm_source=propfirmpickr tag and a click ID — never your email.
Cloud infrastructure providers (database, CDN, email) may process data as data processors under EU GDPR.

6. Data retention

Account & review data — kept until you delete your account.
Click telemetry — retained for 18 months in identifiable form, then aggregated.
Contact form messages — kept for 24 months for support history.

7. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)

You have the right to access, correct, port and delete your data, and to opt out of any direct marketing. Email privacy@propfirmpickr.com and we'll act within 30 days.

8. Security

Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. Admin sessions use HttpOnly, Secure cookies. All traffic is over HTTPS. We run on hardened cloud infrastructure with role-based access controls and audit logs.

9. International transfers

We process data in the EU and US. Transfers are protected by Standard Contractual Clauses and equivalent safeguards.

10. Children

Trading is not for minors. The platform is intended for users aged 18+ and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

11. Changes

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be posted on this page and announced in-app. Last updated: January 2026.
